What is changing?
NASDAQ OMX® is in the process of moving to a new FTPS server and protocol for the posting and delivery of data files. NASDAQ OMX will retire the legacy FTPS server at sftpdata.nasdaq.com and require all MFQSSM FTP server clients to transition to the new server on Monday, November 12, 2012.
The new FTPS server is available via internet or extranet connectivity options. The CISCO VPN and peer-to-peer connectivity options available for the legacy server will be retired. Customers will need to use their own FTPS client software (e.g., WinSCP, Filezilla, Core FTP) in order to post and retrieve files from the NASDAQ OMX FTPS server.
What is the new FTPS server set-up information?
For the new FTPS server configuration, the set-up information will be as follows:
| Server Name: | sftpdata.nasdaqomx.com (via internet) sftpdata-int.nasdaqomx.com (via extranet) |
| Port Number: | 22 (note: the port number is different from the legacy server) |
| File Protocol: | FTP, SSL Explicit Encryption |
| FTP Protocol Options: (may be found under "Advanced Options") | Support for Listing of Hidden File –
Select "Auto" IP Address for Passive Mode Connection & Selected |
Will NASDAQ OMX be modifying the MFQS price file formats?
No. The MFQS Server FTP file specification is not changing. MFQS FTP server clients should continue to use the MFQS 0050 formats for price file creation.
Will MFQS website and MFQS CTCI users need to make configuration changes on November 12?
No. Only the MFQS FTP server clients are impacted by the server migration on November 12, 2012.
Will NASDAQ OMX offer testing opportunities for MFQS FTP server clients?
Yes. In preparation for the FTP server migration, NASDAQ OMX will conduct three MFQS production tests:
- Saturday, September 15, 2012
- Saturday, October 13, 2012
- Saturday, November 10, 2012
Please refer to the Saturday Testing Policy page of the NASDAQ OMX Trader® website for registration information.
MFQS FTP server clients are also encouraged to test their connectivity to the new FTPS environment beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
