What is the NASDAQ US All Market Index family?
The NASDAQ US All Market Index family consists of more than 900 indexes broken down by size and sector to provide a comprehensive U.S. equity benchmark, as defined in our index methodology. The benchmark family is specifically designed to meet the needs of institutions which are facing continued demands to track, match, or beat the market.
How many new indexes will launch?
As explained in the index methodology, the NASDAQ US All Market Indexes are evaluated semi-annually in March and September. Following the initial evaluation upon launch of the US All Market Index family, any indexes that contained less than five Index Securities were not launched. After the September evaluation of the index family, 26 of these indexes have met the index methodology requirements and will be launched on September 24, 2012. A complete list of these indexes is available on the NASDAQ OMX Trader® website.
How will the indexes be disseminated in GIDS 2.0?
Effective Monday, September 24, 2012, data recipients will receive real-time index information from the proprietary GIDS 2.0 data feed. For a list of the new indexes and data elements that will be disseminated, please click here. A complete list of the new NASDAQ US All Market Indexes is available on the NASDAQ OMX Trader website.
In addition to the real-time tick messages, NASDAQ OMX will support the following directory messages on GIDS 2.0:
- Equities Summary (Message Type F): Disseminated at the end of the U.S. and European trading session to relay the summary of the current trading day's activity for an equity index.
- Index Directory (Message Type R): Disseminated at the start of each day to relay basic index information.
